Spanish cable network operator Ono will become the first broadband operator to launch 100 Mbps broadband connections in Spain, initially in Catalonia and then in Madrid and then the Valencia Community. By the end of the last quarter of this year, Ono will introduce a 100 Mbps connection in Catalonia, which is four times the fastest speed currently offered to clients. Ono plans to invest EUR 75 million in the project, while rival Telefónica plans to introduce 100 Mbps connections to 25 percent of its users in 2010.
