Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Advert question

Actually, now that I think of it, it's not an advert as such, it's one of those "Drive Safely" campaigns.

Does anyone know what's the song they use in the one where the girl is sitting on a wall snogging her fella and a car comes crashing into the wall. At the end they're in court with the judge saying something like "It is clear that you were going too fast to cope with the unexpected".

The only lyrics of the song used are "I can't take my eyes off you, I can't take, I can't take my eyes off you" and it's sung by a man. It's driving my husband mad and he's driving me mad!!

If it helps, the girl has an angular face and straight mid-length brown hair. Himself thinks she looks like a young Posh Spice. I don't see it myself though.

This is gonna sound outrageous, me and the lads I lived with in college where putting together a compilation of the songs from accident ads.

    Crash Hits Vol I

"I want to go home, please take me home...."

Are you joking me, Posh Spice wishes she was as gorgeous as the girl on that ad.

    Posh Spice is a munter.

That's really depressing thought process. Not the theme of your CD, just your prediction that there'll be enough ads made in the future to fill a volume II. :(

I'm an advocate of road safety advertisements and I think it's our responsibilty to ensure that these remain on air as frequently as possible......with a suitable soundtrack of course :)

Not if they are daft and unrealistic as that one with the whiney northern drone to top it off.

The cartoon character Judge in that ad is too funny to be in a serious ad. Might as well have Kenneth Williams banging his gavel saying 'you're awful..'

Ridiculous advert in my opinion. Are we seriously meant to believe that anybody would be so fcuking stupid as to pull a handbrake turn to avoid a dog, and just by coincidence, his car slides long enough to smash 2 convieniently placed people at a wall???? If they want to make the adverts have any impact, a small touch of realism wouldn't go amiss..

    Don't forget the classic

"Hey! drivers! Leave us kids alone
    We're not gonna be a/
    nother death on the road.../"

to the tune of Pink Floyds Another Brick in the Wall
