Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    You're from Lucan.

That pretty much sums it up.

Edit: I forgot to quote the OP.

    Point of information.
The jet pack used in the 1965 Bond film Thunderball was real.

I imagine there are some issues of control. From a standing start, you may have a lot of obstacles to collide with (as well as the ground) before you're moving fast enough to actually gain some lift. If you try to take off straight up or at a slight angle, you could easily lose control and fall on your back or flip and hit the ground at 100mph.

Anything which would allow a standing start or a non-aided landing would have to have harrier-style directional jets. Or for a standing start, if you can accelerate from 0-150mph in about half a second, that would also suffice. You may not survive the take off though.

    ^^^That takes a lot of balls ;)

    Edit: aimes for post 30.

As for the jets, I would still rather my own set of wings.
