The obvious sign of the trackers on the cars and vans in the company i worked for was an extra aerial that you initially thought may have been for the car kit, only carkits don't use normal aerials anymore.

A good few years ago I was asked by the security manager of a major multi-national to look in to the pricing / options for tracking systems. Reasoning behind it was not for the vehicles themselves - they are replaceable assets - but for the members of staff in more senior positions.

The tracking system would only be activated if the driver went out of contact and it was suspected they had been kidnapped.

Any chance this is something similar with yourself?

There are tracking devices available that have a privacy button. Research the topic, get some brochures and do a memo to your boss suggesting that it should be installed company wide.

If your telephone conversation is recorded you must be informed before the call starts.
It would appear that only one party needs to know.
