removing closed system radiator

Hey Can anyone tell me if its straightforward enough to temporarily remove a radiator from a closed heating system? If so, how do i go about it. Also once I put it back on, does the system automatically refill to proper water levels? Want to do a spot of decorating and the thing's in the bloody way. Cheers
