Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My husband and I would like to rent a camper van for 2 days to drive from Dublin to Portrush, Co. Antrim (and back). Can anyone recomend a good rental place? We're hoping for a reasonable price, the reason we thought "camper van" was to save money on B&B.

Also, he's only had his full license for a few months, will we not be able to rent?

MistyCheese - I don't think you will have any luck on that front. Campervan rental isn't particularly cheap in Ireland so you are unlikely to save money by renting. I also think you might have problems renting for only two days as most rentals are for a week.

If you are stuck with two days then you could also consider tenting which is even cheaper (although with a lot more setup) or if you can stretch to the week you could always rent for the week. It won't be cheap but it will be fun.

I can't recommend anywhere to rent since I own one and don't need to rent. Have a dig through some of the posts here as this question comes up every few weeks so there should be a few usefull links.

I can't imagine a huge savings for just two days. The likes of www.bunkcampers.com quote around €100 per day with a mimimum of 4 days hire. There's also http://www.eastcoastcampers.ie/ in Wicklow or http://www.motorhome.ie/Rental/motorhomes.php but seem to have a minimum 7day rental.

Ah, sounds like that idea is out the window then.
Thanks for your responses, I'm off to try to book a B&B!
