Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Don't think you can get pesos outside of Argentina. Bring some dollars but you can use your debit and credit cards in the atms over there as well. Try not to pay with your credit card though as there is a huge surcharge for handling it. Can be as much as 10% with some tour companies. Not sure what restaurants would charge you if you wanted to use it.

I wouldn't bother with dollars. You lose a little bit changing from euro to dollar, then another bit from dollar to peso. So why not just stick to the euro?
I found it easiest to use debit card in the machines there. My mastercard didn't work (in ATMS) for some reason, it usually does.
Side note: put money on your credit card and it's free to take it out (with my mastercard anyway),but I got charged a euro or two everytime I used my lazer.

both myself and my g/f both has mastercards, and then just normal atm cards (not laser).

Will we have problem getting money from the atms?

I'm only considering getting dollars to pay for taxi, and first few days in hotel, until we get our bearings.

Check that your atm cards will work aboard. THey should have a cirrus symbol on the back. I never had any hassle with atms there. Just keep all the cards separate from each other in case a bag is stolen or you get robbed that way you'll always have a backup. They won't accept dollars on the street (well they might but the exchange rate will be terrible). Bring euros and change them in the airport in Argentina before you leave. to go to hotel There are plenty of atms in the airport that you can get money out of as well.
