So here's a decent comparison of some real nice summing mixers. Link They all have an extremely distinctive character. I think my favourites are the chandler and the neve. As I mentioned before, I think these tests aren't completely accurate regarding OTB vs. ITB as if you're in the box you'd tend to give a bit more oomph…

As I mentioned before, I think these tests aren't completely accurate regarding OTB vs. ITB as if you're in the box you'd tend to give a bit more oomph to the low mids and just generally mix to cover up a bit of the digital sterility.

But an interesting listen nonetheless.
