Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Where to find similar case outcomes?

I would like to find out some details on the outcomes of cases that may have been brought to the district court for persons accused of being in breach of the Control of Dogs Act, 1986 and Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992, sections 108 and 179. Can anyone tell me where I would begin to find similar cases and their outcomes?

As District Court cases are not reported, contacting a general practice solicitor is the way to go.

You could try a Freedom of Information request to the Department of Justice to get statistics on the number of prosecutions and convictions under each relevant section of the Acts. You won't be given individual outcomes though.

Archives of local newspapers' reporting of District Court proceedings is your best bet.

How about asking the EPA, a local environmental health officer or (if it is an issue of national significance, like say toxocariasis) asking your TD to put a Dáil question.
