skylights - costs and issues

Thinking of installing a skylight / velux on the roof to shed some light onto our dark landing - via an insulated tube - if you get me. Can anyone give me some indication as to costs of installing one and if PP is needed ? The velux would be on the back face of the roof, its a 2 story semi D thanks for the info Rob
