Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All,

Well 6 years of college are up and it's time to start looking for work so just wondering does anyone have any experience using 'legal' recruitment agencies (The Panel, MaryB etc) for obtaining that elusive job?

I've been applying from newspaper/online job advertisements so far but looking at other options in case nothing comes from these. Anyone have any agency recommendations/experiences/warnings? Any help would be great...

6 years of college - so what qualifications do you have? In particular, do you have a professional qualification.

For training contracts to be a solicitor, I think you need to contact the firms directly and/or attend at their recruitment junkets.

Actually some of the best jobs from agencies are advertised in the Gazette. A good friend of mine got a job in the Carribean, bonkers cash, from the Law Society website.

Well I've a Business Studies degree and an MA in Law, and I passed three FE's last time round (gave the most recent sitting a break to concentrate on my thesis).

Problem is I've very little legal work experience on my CV so I was looking to get into a legal executive/paralegal position to fill the void. This was why I was asking has anyone used recruitment agencies for these types of jobs rather than contacting firms directly. I'm not looking for an apprenticeship, just some legal experience before I make the commitment of going the solicitors route.

There are loads of these jobs on www.nixers.com etc, and I'm sure a lot of agencies have these jobs on the books. You're better off going directly to the company though, as usually the agencies take a cut out of your wages.
