Ah no, disaster for all Galway as the Fianna Fial honey pot, having been folded away after last years races, is being discomissioned. Aparently to looked bad to have "developers" with evelopes of readies popping in for a quick pint of influence at the Ballybrit bunfest.

    clicky

    possible reasons for this:
    • FF are worried about their image (yeah right!!)
    • There aren't enough developers left with cash to go
    • Young people will eventually realise how they were completely shafted by developers in cahoots with FF and Cowan is trying to distance himself and his party from 'that crowd'

Good too see as IMO it really was the epitomy of what was wrong with Irish politics.

I suspect that the tent, if it went ahead, would be full of angry developers who had paid up over the years looking for support from a government unable to provide it, and not the generous developers of the past.

This was announced a year ago, but tbh, I didn't think that they would go through.

There will always be a tent. Only a literal tent has been replaced with a metaphorical tent.

Like the clip of Bertie from the RTÉ archive explained, the tent was frequented mainly by rank and file members of the party such as myself.

The main reason is it's not as profitable as the golf classics FG run....and the overheads are fairly steep.
