Hi everyone, I love writing songs and I have various songs of different genres....How do I get hold of producers to publish my songs and most important how do I approach them. I do need the contact details of many of them so that I can approach them at large. I know that this is not easy …but I do have confidence in my lyrics and know that they have a chance.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

This is very good that you do have confidence in your lyrics but getting the initial start is the main matter. It would be better to approach a few well known publishers who have the repute of giving breaks to newbie’s. As there are many people coming up in your line you really need to get an edge out of them and I believe that VmusicBook will be a suitable option for you to get started as it houses the contact names, Addresses, Phone #'s, Fax #'s, Emails, and Websites of the needed persons and also provides strategies for getting started in this line.

    All the Best!!!

Don't shoot me, but be sure you know the terms, as well, and who does what in the business. I know it sounds silly, but for example a Producer is very, very rarely a Publisher. Unless you're recording or have a band you won't really need a producer yet, but you probably realised that yourself.

Also, why not post an ad here for a band or for individual musicians to form a band who might perform your songs? This let's you give them a try-out on a real audience, either on stage or on the net, before you go hawking them around publishers - assuming you don't perform, yourself.

Of course none of this stops you following the Vmusic advice. It looks interesting and comrehensive, but I'd need a closer look :)

It's hard work, getting published whether you're a composer or a novellist, and even then there's no guarantee of regular paid work. So a major recommendation from me would be to start a website (if you haven't already) and put 30 second extracts of your songs up ther with links for complete downloads and then you can point people at it rather than spend half of the rest of your life burning CDs.

Whatever you decide, if you've got the talent then good luck. :D
