[Req] Value for Money Cafe's/Sandwich Bars

    Hi All,

I'll be visiting Waterford City on work for a few days where I'll be going to cafe's and sandwich bars regularly. The obvious thing for someone new to a city to do is just go to a brand name outlet (eg O'Briens, Starbucks) and then pay through the nose. Can I ask locals what places they consider to be good cafe's/sandwich bars where they offer better value for money.

Thanks In Advance for all responses.

I think Lattetude is a good place, good sandwiches and coffee.
    There is no starbucks.

Waterford isn't big on sandwich shops since we have Blaas. A slice of red lead or hang and you're set for the day.

The brasserie in Arundle square is a great place for food...inexpensive and food is top notch.

There are a few cafes in the centre:
Lattetude x 2 (Michael st. & John Roberts sq.)
    Sammatra (John st.)
Cafe Lucia (Just off JR sq.)
Brasserie (Arundel sq.) (more of a diner)
    There's a Subway on George's st.
    There's a Kylemore/Quiznos in City Square.
There's 2 O'Briens, one on George's st. and a crap one in City Square.
There's a nice enough cafe in the Granary on O'Connell st.

There's a few cafe bars in the city centre that are quite good as well:
    Geoffs (Michael st.)
The Gingerman (Just off JR Sq.)

Subway is great only a little on the expensive side..

Its about €10 for a footlong roll with anything you want really, salads and sauces are free, crisps doughnut or a cookie, and a large coke(that you have free refills on)!

Staff are very friendly aswell! There all foreign but have great english.

You cant really go wrong with it only for the price it used to be €8

What about the Pantry in Georges court ? I havent been in there in ages but I remember the food being both reasonable and very good quality.

I'm sorry I just can't see why you think this is so. It so bad it's not funny. They get away with putting sh1te on a plate because they have no direct competition.

Really? It's not exactly gourmet but I've never had a problem with it.
The Pantry on the other hand has gone way down hill.
