Interesting how cheap it appears to be to run an airplane.

I could even see myself attempting to build one of those bowers fly baby's distantly in the future.

Are his numbers in any way accurate at all though? I could do all the maintenance work myself including engine rebuilds I'd imagine.

How much does it cost to park your plane at an airport in Ireland for example?

Microlighting in Ireland can be very cheap, I have an X-Air with the 582 2 Stroke engine which I bought in Scotland burns 16Litres of Mogas per hour. I can maintain this myself (which I dont currently do) but services are cheaper than a car service anyway. X-airs can be had for less than €15k . Mine is hangared in Birr which is reasonable too.

If your willing to do the maintenance yourself flying for €35p/h is achievable depending on how many hours you do per year.

Group A planes Cessna's and the like are costlier to run as they are much more tightly regulated with C of A's ect..
