    Hey fellow boardsies.
We have semi-solid cherry floors in hall and living room (they run into each other with no gap). They have taken a bit of abuse from us (and previous owner) and we're at the point where we want to either refinish them or pull them up and put down some quality laminate that will wear a lot better.

Obviously sanding and refinishing would allow us to leave the skirting and door architraves where they are. Are there companies that specialise in this? Is it worth doing (with semi solid, can probably only be done once and 6months to a year down the line we might be back in this situation).

The other option is to go for some nice laminate. Plenty of people selling and fitting this. Will any companies come in, take off the skirting, architraves, take up the old flooring, put down the new and put the skirting and architraves back up (for a reasonable cost)?
Or do we need to do the prep work?

Living room is about 13' x 10', hall about 10' x 4' (if i recall correctly - don't have measurements in front of me).

Any other suggestions are more than welcome.
