    Strom the town hall? And what do you expect to find there? A few permanently bewildered secretaries and some people with "connections" freeloading on the drink in the mayors parlour. Our local politicians don't actually work you know.:p

    She's a depiction of Hibernia, isn't she? Ireland personified. The irish equivalent of Britannia. It was put there as part of the centenary rememberance of the 1798 rebellion. 1899 was a year late, but it is Ireland. Better than the Millenium Spike, erected in 2003, was three years late.
