    Hi all ... I just wanted to take the opportunity on the momentous occasion of my 1,088th post to thank boards.ie! I'd also like to thank my friends and family, my manager, my personal trainer, and above all God!

    This website has given me something to do in the long dark (and short bright!) evenings. It has cured me of many diseases. It has fed and clothed me. It has made my hair shinier and my skin softer. It has enriched my life in oh so many ways! I would be so so so lonely and empty without it!! *

    But seriously, as I have said so many times before, this really is an incredible site, and respect to all those behind it.

    But can we please stop with the "thanks, its my xxxxth post" threads already? Its not postcount that matters ... its contribution to the site and the community. I've often seen more sense and contribution to boards from n00bs than the high postcounters. Lets get this straight ... high post count does not necessarily mean you are a valuable member of boards (altho many high postcounters obviously are very valuable members).

    Lets concentrate on making this a better and stronger community rather than having a big dick post count. Thats what matters most, and the community is all that matters.

    And I can say all that on the massive event that is my 1,088th post. I have 1,088 posts!!!!!

    (Gandalf, you're not entirely wrong or anything, but is it really such a big deal if a few people insist on waving their e-penis around to be admired? Some of them may not get such validation IRL, you know! :D)

    Simple solution to this nonsense I have elentywhatever posts lark.

    Just send these threads to the cuckoo's nest. Edit the posts to be numbers and merge them with the 'let's count to a million' thread.

    At least then they'd be doing some good.
