I post in the bar because I like it there, I like the people and the atmosphere, some days it's what keeps me going, and GOD FORBID we have a bit of a community and meet ups.
Maybe we should stop meet ups too, incase they encourage 'post count whoring' later.

I post in lots of other places too - and some of them have their own 'community' just because it's split into lots of other threads doesn't really make it any different to ours.
Other forums are very specific (apart from AH and TCN) about what they talk about, AH is there because it covers all sorts of random crap - I'm sure people who 'post count whore' post in there because most threads you can pretty much respond to.

You take tLL and BGRH as one, and say that all of the thread in them should be non post counting? I don't frequent tLL that much, but when I do, there tends to be some important female threads about contraceptives and other such things -- which technically could come under other forums -- why should they be considered post count whoring?
BGRH discusses random stuff (as does AH) outside the bar.

RB I don't know you - so I've no ill feelings against you, but I think your attack on BGRH and tLL is a little uncalled for -- we are not the only places that have a lot of people coming back to the same place. You have lots of people in other forums who stick to their forums and discuss things with the same people every day and like to know the other people.

TCN is completely random like counting game and picture association. I go into TCN a bit myself - for a bit of randomness.
AH has more topics, as do BGRH and tLL.

I don't understand why this bothers you so much when I really doubt that anyone in either of those forums 'post count whores' -- most of us don't really care.

Your tone in this thread has been absolutely bizarre, it has to be said, it's as though you've taken offense on behalf of the forum itself (BGRH) to the suggestion of having something removed from it. Surprisingly aggressive/condescending etc.

I have to lol at people going on about my supposed attitude toward post counts, and then having an absolute fit at me when I suggest taking away the ability to add to postcounts in certain fora.

Ah yeah sure we're all aware post count means squat, the only issue problem is when people start posting merely to get their post count up, including random two/three word sentences etc. Now I'm definitely not targetting you with that, I know you're just playing the numbers game on TLL I know Sherifu will read this and think it's about him too, but it's not.

Thats groovy. To be honest, i always had you pegged as a dude who would just flat out say what he is thinking anyway, but was just making sure is all.

Well said! Over half my total post count is in the BGRH bar thread, but then I am the barman! Should they be removed from my count? I honestly wouldn't care at this point! And would be surprised to find a different reaction from the regulars, yes regulars! People come in there daily for a bit of a chat and to catch up, just like OMG a real bar! OP You are welcome to come and join us anytime you like!:)

AND the fact that you pick on BGRH and tLL (Which if you notice I'm not a big frequenter of the latter but I'll defend the people in it) and not AH when *technically* if people wanted to they could do this 'post count whoring'.

If you're going to attack forums for having post counts, the same could be said for Mods -- they have to post to warn people all the time, why should they get post counts for that? If they wanted to, they could warn people separately and get more post counts, instead of one post warning two people.

We don't care about the post count - it's the fact you've singled out two out of many forums and made non evidential statements about the people in them.

I wasn't saying EVERYONE in those forums was post count++ing, I just said it appeared as though there was a lot of it going on. There's certainly a lot of people I'd recognise posting who I know would have no interest in that though.

Well, there's not really a massive opportunity to do it in AH. Most threads aren't allowed descend into chit chat and there's certainly not thread there to facilitate chit chat either.

I agree you can't chit chat - but you can post in most of the threads in AH, which would equate to posting in the bar lets say. Some people might have 10 or 20 posts in bar in one (long) day, and some people could rack that up in AH in responding to most threads is my point. I just mean that I can't really wander into any forum and just reply to any thread, whereas in AH it is a little bit easier as the topics are more diverse than other topic specific forums.
