Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jobseekers benefit, finished fetac course, no P60 etc

I have been dealing with a serious illness for a few years and haven't worked for anyone except cash-in-hand now and again for the family. So I don't have P60's or anything like that . I finished a FETAC certificate last May (2007) and plan on doing a degree in September (2008).

I'm looking for work at the minute but my lack of experience is making it take longer than expected - could I get jobseekers benefit as I look for one? Even though I haven't spent time working in a "real" job?

AFAIK jobseekers benefit is based on your previous PRSI payments and work history so i doubt you would get it. Jobseekers allowance however isn't based on PRSI payments but is means tested which may be what you can apply for.
