Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Some friends of mine were in a well known pub/club in town andwere shocked to find out that you couldnt get a glass of water from behind the bar even after having paid 30 euro into the place. It was 3.50 for bottled water. Just wondering if there is anything stating that this is within the publicans rights or if there is anything on the legal end of things which states that they must provide drinking water for patrons. Especially seeing as the place is a sweat box. Just a query. Cheers.

They can't charge for tap water and as far as I know a pub is obliged to provide it.

A word with the local gardaí before the next licencing session would be useful. :D

Ring the Health and Safety Authority, this sounds like it would be within their remit. If it is they will be able to take action against the offending establishment.

Another option might be the National Consumer Agency.

The Health and Safety Authority deal with Health and Safety iin the workplace, not how much bars charge for drinks.

    Very good. :)

It always results in entertainment at an otherwise dull licensing court.

Ah Spy bar, of course! Last time I went there they were charging 40e in. There was no special event or act on that night to justify that entry fee. I could well believe that they are charging 3.50 for a bottle of water
