Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Surely the goals nominated are the ones that won goals of the month throughout the season.

Yeah they were. Tuncay's volley was amazing.

And Tevez's goal was a beautiful team goal.

    Rochembak's free > Ronaldo's one.

But Ronaldo's little flick against Villa was the best in there.

They really should change the cameras to the other side of Wembley, it looks like Tolka Park when Shels are playing Sporting Fingal over the far side with the amount of empty seats after half time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,910 ✭✭✭thusspakeblixa

    That 1st half was AWFUL!
Most entertainment was the goal of the season competition at half time.
    Rochemback ftw.
And ye'd nearly miss Dunphy and Brady and their incessant bickering, the Beeb is poo.
''No Eamon, I take that as a personal insult'' :D

Agreed cause the cameras focus on all the VIP seats.

Great goal by Stevie G, great play by the substitute Barry.

Maybe a taster for the pool next season.

Barry should be in that team every time they play imo.

Hopefully Capello has the balls to pick him and not Lamps/Stevie.

Have they a proper left winger on the bench?

Oh, and a question about USA.

Is Freddy Adu getting a look in at all.

Wales one up against Iceland.

Freddy Adu, he really went off the radar, he went to Benfica hasnt really promised what the hype surrounding warranted.

''He's just a black Graham Barrett''

I really want to start a chant like that if USA ever play Ireland.

he'll be back (in the US team minimum) he only turns 19 next month afterall.

Gotta agree with Des (and not just cos im a Villa fan) Barry should always be in that team he gives it much more balance and complements the players around him more than others.

    ....on comes ADU

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,910 ✭✭✭thusspakeblixa

Wasn't Adu meant to go to Real or Man U or Chelsea?
    ...and he's at Benfica.

    What?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,103 ✭✭✭estebancambias

What I mean is they have a mixture of different surnames. Like Edu just came on. He should be playing for Brazil.

Adu should be playing for Ghana.

Hadjuk should be playing for Croatia.

    Guzan...wouldn't know.

    Dempsey---Ireland

Maby I'm reading too much into it.

75,000 turned up for that? Great second goal by Liverpools 2008-09 midfield. Lampard should be bench warming material if Mr Capello was taking note (or even awake).

    Mike.

The audio faults for some reason made it sound like there was some type of farting noise going on during it :p

Beckham played pretty well in pt 1 and doesnt make it to the 2nd half? I rate Capello less with each passing hour

Slow enough match, particularly pt 1. The US were by no means awful but they did **** all real attacking, Im not sure James had to make any save that took effort.

End of season friendly, judge Capello in the qualifiers imo

Not playing wise, more than he seems to subscribe to the Don Givens school of manager-player relationship.

I flicked over to watch repeats of family guy instead of watching part 2:pac:

One player I was disappointed not to see playing for USA was Brian McBride, and sadly it looks like we wont get to see him plying his trade in the premiership next season either. A great pro.

Sad to see him go. Top professional. Fantastic aerial ability.

Would he be classes as a Fulham legend?

For modern times, yes, i'd say so - who the hell would his competition be!?

    The great Steve Finnan?

Personally I was struck by another manager being afraid to drop the big names. I only saw bits of the match in the pub, so I don't really know how people played, but fecking Gerrard out on the left wing is not a long term solution to England's problems IMO. Obviously it's just a friendly - more an opportunity to give the players a run out so I'm not making any judgements really, but still.

If I were an England fan, I'd like to see:

    James
    Richards--Ferdinand--Terry--Cole
    Hargreaves--Barry
    --Cole
    Gerrard
    Young--
    Rooney
