Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thats a very solid looking line up, I think 1 up front is the new black for England.

    The great Steve Finnan?

Personally I was struck by another manager being afraid to drop the big names. I only saw bits of the match in the pub, so I don't really know how people played, but fecking Gerrard out on the left wing is not a long term solution to England's problems IMO. Obviously it's just a friendly - more an opportunity to give the players a run out so I'm not making any judgements really, but still.

If I were an England fan, I'd like to see:

    James
    Richards--Ferdinand--Terry--Cole
    Hargreaves--Barry
    --Cole
    Gerrard
    Young--
    Rooney
I'd put Rooney in Gerrards position, Gerrard out wide with either Cole or Young dropping. Rooney is not a lead the line striker. He won't play well there and england won't have a point man to aim for. I'd like to see Ashton given the chance there.

Problem with Rooney is he can only play as a deeper striker, hopless on his own up front - its practically an invite to the opposition to get him sent off. England need a Torres.
