Does anyone know, other than name, what is the difference between a Higher Diploma and a Postgraduate Diploma? For example, PGDE used to be called HDipEducatuin, is the difference just a name change?

As far as I remember, a postgrad diploma is in the same field as your primary degree, whereas a higher diploma is a "conversion" from, one field to another (e.g. Arts to IT).
