Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They might even give Rene Dupree a poodle, but will have to be called Mimi for copyright reasons (tm). But only if we ask nicely ;)

Imagine getting that turned on about Rene dupree and rob conway and then your only question on this show is entrance music
Maybe when you go looking for an autograph you may get the tickler now that would be worth the entrance money to see
    And what

    ... What?

You realise WWE Theme music is probably the easiest thing on the internet to download?

I have over 2,500 themes on my PC. Vince didn't hand deliver any of them.

Jesus 2,500 themes have there even been 2,500 wrestlers ever?

Yes and all of which are copyrighted by WWE. If AWR ever plan to make this footage go public, they run the risk of lawsuits left right and centre by WWE's legal team.

Seriously, i'm at the point where proof should be demanded that people were released out of cryogenic suspension before they're allowed post lately.

I think when he said entrances, he meant the actualy physical stage entrance/ set rather than music themes;)

Either way, id be fairly certain AWR wont be using WWE entrance themes due to copyright issues!

I know what he meant, and it didn't make any sense whatsoever.

Im pretty sure that Renè and Sabu's themes are just generic production themes. Besides, as i said in my post:

Seen as this isn't gonna be DVD'ed or televised or anything

So i see no reason to assume they wont. Kash had his WWE theme with his IwW appearances.

What themes did Conway/Raven/Mahoney have at that IwW show a while back?

    Balls... well i wouldnt know.

But if you'd like to know the sounds of the intermission, I'd be more than happy to help.

Why not? Because you didn't understand it?

It's simple, Bret's Trons and entrance music are the intellectual property of WWE.

Understand now? Great! Because what is understood doesn't need to be discussed.

I saw that, was Scotty2Hotty throwing a chair through the set window planned do you reckon ? It got a bit confusing when it happened and the camera was all over the gaff and the producer came running on the set and then it cut to ads . then the wrestlers weren't there when it came back and usually all guests stay on for the show.

Also the bit afterwards talking about testicles and what not was wierd and a bit funny! All before 8pm, wow, it surely isn't live is it ?

I loved it, it was the funniest non-wrestling wrestling related tv spot i have seen in a while.

When scotty went over to the guy in the red for the chair, and the other guy got up and stared him down i thought thats what it was going to lead to.

I dont know who came up with all that, but it was good. :)

As i said, it was better than another presenter asking awkward questions.

Or else i've thought that for a long time, but there comes a time where all hope is lost and one just throws in the towel because one has hit the point of no return.

    Either way, we're both right.

I'm tempted to go to the Tallaght show our of nostalgia. I've not watched wrestling much in the last few years save for the odd dvd. Has anyone any idea what wrestlers will be working what matches ? It looks like Bret's the big name but who'll be main eventing ?

€34 is probably worth it to see Sabu fly

In an interview with Alex Marvez, Bret Hart said he's done with professional wrestling following his U.S. book tour. Hart believes his wrestling career will be complete after saying good-bye to his American fans on various book signing tours to promote its release in the States. Hart is content saying good-bye to wrestling through his book and not working for a promotion after spending seven years on the project. "I'd be happy being remembered for really brilliant storytelling in my matches, not for some last chance to snap up some money," Hart said. "I respectfully understand my light in wrestling is fading. I can live with that." Hart said he nearly gave up on the project while trying to fight with the illnesses he faced after suffering a stroke in 2002. However, Hart wanted to bring closure on his wrestling career. "A lot of times, I thought about giving up because it was hard reliving some of these events. But I couldn't say goodbye to my wrestling character until I finished." Hart also wanted his family, especially his kids, to find out about his story and experience what he lived through. "I just wanted people - even my kids - to walk in my shoes and know that it was never easy being gone all the time. I was pretty much on the road for 300 days a year and that didn't include travel back and forth. It's hard to keep a marriage going."

Guess where this is from :p

Anyone see Scotty, Legend and Dupree on Ireland AM this morning? Dupree looked stoned or something, he seemed completely out of it. Or he's just not a morning person.

I am just back from the Limerick show in UL. It was a very enjoyable evening and very well organised. Got to see Bret Hart my childhood Idol, me and my bro got pics/autographs was brilliant. Mexican Midgets , Just Joe, Scotty Too Hotty, Tatanka were selling shirts , merchandise, autographs , pics, all for very reasonable rates. All the matches were very enjoyable none more so then Tatanka match, Tatanka who is quite heavy now took on some 450 pound dude, and they literally broke the ring, took 10 mins to fix after the match. Great match though.

Only minor thing that pissed me off was the over abundance of kids, running around like nutters but thats the old grump in me coming out.

Bret said a piece after the intermission thanking all the ppl for coming, was great seeing the guy, shaking his hand and getting a photo.

I am one chuffed, "revitalised" wrestling fan, its been a year since I watched any form of wrestling and this is the first live event I have attended, and it was excellent , great night.

    Thumbs up from me .

    Bill

The headlock one? Apparently he wore that shirt on the tour of the US too. He must have had a few printed off.

Can you give a little more info about the merchandise/prices? Was the meet and greet well organised?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,676 ✭✭✭Chong

For all Autographs and Photos its 5 each.

Basically get in a line , first ya got Midgets, Just Joe, Eugene, Scotty, Tatanka, finally Bret.

Midgets were selling masks which were dear, 25 euro.

Just Joe was selling t-shirts for about 10 euro I think.

Eugene was selling t-shirts, dvd and signed promo shots from him when he was at WWE.

Scotty was selling t-shirts and signed photos.

Tatanka was selling t-shirts , figures, old wrestling mag with him on it signed, photos, and also selling a chance of a polaroid with him and a cool Belt he had with him.

Then Bret, the most humble guy , a total legend selling signed photos.

It was the Headlock t-shirt indeed Shawn.

Production seemed to be very well put together I thought.

Also the meet and greet was well organised.

The kids although seemed like the were fed bags of sugar before attending, and shouldnt been given glow sticks , green goo was everywhere.

The ring was class, top notch, apart from the damage it took from the Tatanka match.

The event was far from sold out , roughly 1000 ppl there they said, I didnt like UL arena as venue I must say but that aint AWR's fault.

  • Registered Users Posts: 938 ✭✭✭HorseRadish

Just back myself, security wasnt the best,I counted at least 10 kids that jumped into the ring during the intermission, one father lifted his son OVER the guardrail to do it at one stage!! The main event of Dupree/Disorderly vs Joe/Eugene had multiple empty Coke bottles being thrown at Dupree at eventually the other lads in the ring

An autograph was 5 euro, picture was 5 as well.Tatanka was shilling his WWE figures,Bret was a joy to meet, thanked him for all the memories :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,676 ✭✭✭Chong

I would also like to say Scotty 2 Hottys match was very entertaining, seemed like a top bloke. Eugene or Nick Dinsmore was a very down to earth guy having spoke with him at the meet and greet.

With Scotty 2 Hotty, a guy in front of me asked him does he ever speak to Bryan Christopher anymore to which Scotty said no not more I am afraid, and your man proceeded to ask does he know what Bryan is doing , and Scotty said unfortunately not.

No chance to meet Sabu? Depree?

    :(

So its a guilt line? Are you made feel like you have to buy some merchandise from everyone? Don't like that to be honest, but sure what can you do.

Any idea if people were able to pay to get a picture took, but use a digital camera instead? Its 2008 afterall.. i think polaroids are dead and buried at this stage.

Did Bret take pictures with anyone? I think i'd be very let down if he isn't going to do the picture thing :( i thought they'd all have their own tables scattered around and you could approach them and ask as you please. :(

(I just read my post and it seems like im moaning and whinging about it all, im not, im just curious)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,676 ✭✭✭Chong

    Yup Kids were crawling everywhere.

Oh I also forgot I reckon Sabu may have botched his match. It last about 2 mins, he swung some puny Irish bloke in to the corner, and setup a chair jumping in to your man. He seemed to caught it wrong and injured himself, so he put him in a like crossface chokehold to which your man tapped out , and Sabu limped off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,676 ✭✭✭Chong

Nope no chance to meet Dupree or Sabu.

It was a bit of a guilt trip but still the guys were very chatting even though you may have not bought anything.

You free to use your digital camera, Tatanka was the only one using a polaroid.

Bret took photos with anyone and everyone.

Sabu and Dupree werent at the table, you could use anything you wanted to take a picture, people had Iphones, camera phones, digital cameras,AWR were cool with it.

Bret was sound to have a pic taken with in fairness, but yeah, its just one long table. :(
