    Holy Sh*t, that's what i call a replacement :D

And there was me about to post complaining that AWR's website was down and they needed to get their finger out!

Still disappointed about Foley at the same, would have liked to have met him, but still, if it works out, this is better, even though i have met Bret before at the WWA show, that was just a quick ring side handshake, but never thought it would happen again, will be great to see him back and actually talk to him.

Bret doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to just miss a flight. Foley on the other hand was booked as the main draw on a "International Wrestling Assault" tour in Australia a couple of years ago, and completely no-showed without giving the promoters any notice. Bret just doesn't seem like the "no show" sort of guy.

Would've considered going to see Foley ... but Bret Hard?
Can he even walk these days? I'd rather not have my memories of a charismaless, boring, but good worker, tarnished.

    Yes he can still walk.

There is no way Bret will be wrestling anyway.

He'll be a guest ref or an enforcer or something.

More than likely he'll cut a lenghtly promo at the start of the show, and come out again at the main event and put the top heel in the Sharpshooter.

I'd love a question and answer session if it was possible.

Bret Hard? Who's that, a gay porn star? (Only kidding Cactus, could'nt resist)

Seriously though, Bret was never boring, he was no Rock, Austin or even HBK on the mic, but he definitely always charismatic in his own way as a straight man (and no that's not another gay joke :D). I've always thought the WWE needed a straight man character to counter all the madness at times, i Bret filled that role perfectly at one time, plus when he turned heel, it brought a whole different edge to that "white knight" face image he always had. Plus, as you say, he always let his wrestling do the talking. I personally would'nt care if he does'nt do anything bar turn up and talk a bit, the chance to speak to him would be enough entertainment for me (Granted, we paid to see a wrestling show, but from the reviews of the last shows here, the other guys on the roster should provide a decent offering), plus, would Mick Foley have done much more in the ring bar shove Socko down someone like Chris Masters' throat?(Again though, would have been good enough for me, as long as i saw him or even got to meet him)

One other question, i don't see Test on the ad anymore, is he out now?

My only quam is that with the line-up so far only involving Tatanka, Eugene, and Scotty 2 Hotty, this is in danger of turning into a comedy show.

he was pretty awful last time out and the only thing that saved his match with sandman was sandmans amazing 10 minute entrance through the crowd

Awesome. Bret Hart? I was a major mark for him before, and it'll be awesome to see him.

Being honest, Foley was never going to be wrestling anyway. He was being advertised as the Commish which meant he was always just going to cut a promo at the top of the show, be interupted by a heel and then by the end of the show, Foley would have shoved Socko down the heel's throat. Now, just replace Foley with Hart and "Shoved Socko down the heel's throat" with "apply the sharpshooter", and you've prob got the same show.

The comment implying about Bret charging for autographs worries me though. I've never heard stories but I wouldn't put it past him, to be honest.

Hmm, wonder if I can get a "Bret screwed Bret" chant going at the Dundalk show :P

Just click it anyway. I bought mine for Tallaght earliar when it said that tickets were not available, even tough they obviously were.:D

Well.. i mean if you don't mind? :pac:

So i see that €35 is the price. So i assume its a case of first in = better seats?

Whats up with that guy that posted here? AWR offices was his name (or something along those lines).

If you're out there, can you clarify if we will be paying per item signed (eg Bret might want €1 for a promo, €10 for a figure and €100 for a belt) or is it all free and thats that?

I'd really like to know before i go because i dont want to walk in there with €50 in my pocket expecting a few 100% free signatures, only to have my wallet raped by Bret :(

Also, can anyone confirm the full list of people that will be appearing?

And so much for Foley's book: "I try my hardest to never miss an event im advertised for". I know Bret is a decent stand-in, but Im guessing Bret would have been going anyway, and just wasn't announced yet.

    Damn :(

At least i got to meet him (Foley) at Easons that time (First in line, too :D)

Sure, I bought mine off Ticketmaster 4 days before the site said they went on sale. >_>

And I wouldn't mind seeing the response to KKV either. It would be handy to know if I'll have to save up before the show to get people to sign my WHC belt, or if I can expect some nice freebie signings :P

To answer some questions posted here.......
There will be more names and dates added to the Irish tour which will be announced in the coming weeks.

Bret "Hitman" Hart will appear on all Irish dates listed and some European dates with American Wrestling Rampage,

The site will be back up and running over the next few days,

American Wrestling Rampage is give you free entry into a meet and greet session with all the wrestlers on the bill one hour prior to bell time. It is the wrestlers choice if they request a fee for autographs.

The Dublin Show at Tallaghs National Basketball arena there will be 2 levels of ticket pricing, One general admission for 35euro (best seats will be first come) and 55euro, This is a seat in the first 4 rows, Again this is not reserved, however you will recieve a seat within the first 4 rows,

Thanks for the info folks.I HAD to get a pair of tickets if the hitman was going to be there, and I booked them now

AWR_OFFICE, Can you be a little less official and just give us a vague idea? I'm sure when these guys were being booked they said something about the meet and greet. And im sure you guys have worked with some of the american rasslers before.

I honestly don't mind being charged, I just want to know that if i am getting charged, how much € would I'd be safe in bringing to the event with me... :-/

I have heard of bret charging up $50 for meet and greets.
However I would also like AWR_OFFICE to give us an idea of approximately how much the booked wrestlers are asking for,for the meet and greet session

$50? so that'd still be €50 to us anyway.

But yeah, thats not too bad, if he'll sign anything you put in front of him and be happy to take pictures (and maybe even smile).

But we also have to contend with the other prices too.

I've a feeling that this is going to be a very expensive event for tose of us who want to go all out, nWo style, 4 life.

Info is also very misleading, as some may think its all free and thus not bring much spending money and miss out on being able to get signatures, pictures etc, which will also mean that some people will be let down, and some will think that bret's a robbing bastard (even though he may not be) and bret will be out of pocket too because people werent expecting to have to pay for it.

Hell, i thought it was all free til i read this thread and AWR_OFFICE clarified that admission is all that was free.

What's the "maybe even smile" thing meant to mean? He had a serious stroke which has left him not being able to be as expressive facially as a person who has not had a stroke.

In his book, I think he mentions that just after his stroke one of the hardest things for him to accept was not being able to smile. So I think you need to be a little more understanding.

As it is the wrestlers and NOT American Wrestling Rampage who charge for authographs we do not fixing prices.
I can say however from the last tour that photographs and any Merchandise you want signed was 5euro, and you could get as many things signed from that wrestler as you wished.
Bret will NOT be charging anywhere close to 50euro for a autograph etc, I would suggest he will be the same as the other wrestlers on the tour

Relax Vince, it was a joke. I read his book. (well thats a lie, i didnt, but i have it and intend on reading it when im finished with Bischoff's)

So AWR, do you mean it was €5 for anything and everything, or €5 per item?

Like i say, I don't mind paying, just looking for a vague idea. There's a few shows before the Dundalk one, so I'm sure i'll have a rough idea of how much to bring with me. I'll just start saving in the mean time.

Quite looking forward to it actually. I'll have to hunt down some merchandise (Replica belt, Bret's Unmatched Fury figure, Tatanka's Classic figure etc) to get signed.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,624 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

I'm probably going to bring my WHC belt; see how many signatures I can get on it. Met a guy once who got his US spinner signed by Cena and Teddy Long and was mad jealous. Getting Bret to sign a belt though would be awesome, and it might be fun to see what Masters or Scotty would have looked like with it had WWE given them a chance :P

I'm also contemplating booking a room in the hotel for the Dundalk show; I know there's probably little chance the wrestlers would be staying in the same hotel, but I'd be able to hang round right till the end of the show, and get there plenty early before it as well ^_^

Also, just a general question about autograph fees, which I'm more throwing out there for anyone to answer. Will it be a fiver per person, or per item? If, say, my brother and me want to get autographs, can we go as a duo and pay 5 or would we have to pay 10? Never been to an indy show before so I'm well excited, but don't want to go with too little money...

The book is open. Will Bret actually show, or will there be an excuse? I'll be shocked if I actually see him in Neptune Stadium in Cork.

I'll be glad to be proven wrong.

He better. I'm planning on buying a replica belt to get signed. Fair enough, I'd most likely get the belt over time anyway, but im considering getting one of the 1 or 1,000 Ultra Deluxe ones just to get him to sign it (goes in and around €450) so if he does a no-show i'll be very upset.

At least the Dundalk show is near the end, so i should know well in advance. But he should show up. He's been officially announced by AWR to be there (although i dont believe he has mentioned it on his official site yet).

So yeah... I'll be mega-pissed if he misses.:(:o

Hobby i guess. Just something extra to remember the event by. Personally i think a picture is better than a signature, but its still nice to be able to get them to sign stuff. As i said, a little something to take care of to remember the event by.

Still not worth buying a €450 belt on the off chance Bret will sign it or even be there, i must say im skeptical but i'd love to see it happen

Its not an off-chance he'll be there; he's booked so it is in fact very likely he'll be there. If he were an active wrestler, then you could say "Well, he could pull-out at any moment should he get a better offer from another company somewhere else for more money/exposure" but Bret is not an active wrestler, and is not in it for the money/exposure anyway. He's more than likely treating this a holiday to see Ireland properly, where all his expenses are paid and his tour organized.

That said, it is entirely possible he could have to pull out of the tour for publicity commitments for his new book, or if he should be befallen by some unforeseen family emergency/health problem etc. which could happen to anyone and is completely out of his control. But my point is neither of these possibilities suggest that there is only an "off-chance" that he'll be there.
