I bought a new Toshiba Equium A200 from Currys after Xmas. The backlight is going off and when I brought it to currys it never went off, but since coming home it is off again. I am going to get it collected this time as I am lost with out it, but wondering if anyone else has had this problem

Its a frequent enough occurance (for the number of laptops out there) that the backlights do fail or flicker (which is nearly as bad) but its not an uncommon problem your having. If Currys collect it they should replace (more than likely ) the entire screen if they find fault which from your description its more than likely they will.

The odd thing is that I ran it on a 14" CRT for 2 days and the LCD was ok when I tried it but it died again. Should be collected tomorrow
