Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If God had meant us to keep all the petrol he shouldn't have made it quite so inflammable now should He?

    BMW R1150RT 47MPG
    BMW F650GS 74MPG
    Yamaha R6 40MPG
    Honda CBR600F 45MPG
    Honda CG125 100MPG
    Honda C50 120 to 140MPG

    Yamaha Virago 535

About 100 miles on a 13.5 litre tank.

    Formerly:

    Gilera Ice 50cc 2-stroke moped = 140km on 4.5l = 3.2l per 100km = 88mpg

    Currently:

    Yamaha BR125cc 4-stroke bike = 280km on 6.6l = 2.36l per 100km =119.7mpg

Imperial (uk) mpg figures: Using converter found here: http://www.euronet.nl/users/grantm/frans/fuel.html

I am still breaking in the Yamaha's engine so rev's rarely go over 6000! :P

with the current price of petrol I'm thinking of going for a CG125 with a sail. Fecking hell why'd I go for the shiney yellow bike with the big engine?

    Honda CB1 400cc
Driven slow in city n hard on dualer (about 7 miles on dualer).
€10 petrol today will get me 140km before I have to put another €10 to fill it back up, range is only about 165km.
Think it works out about 40-45mpg.

on a related note to this thread,i was bored in work today so i tried to work out how much a day it costs to run my majesty 125. i have a short commute to work totaling 16km and a full tank(10L) lasts me 3 weeks. my insurance is €288,tax is €56. it ended up costing me €1.55 a day to run my bike, thats obviously excluding any repair work etc that may occur. €1.55 wouldn't even get me into work on the bus let alone home!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,564 ✭✭✭✭Hotblack Desiato

Depends on the bike and how you ride it, obviously, but servicing and tyres usually is about the same again as what you spend on fuel :( and don't forget depreciation...

    Scrap the cap!
