Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

One of the biggest let downs for me was Zinedine Zidane. My absolute football idol. Went to see Madrid train in Chicago back in 2005. All the heads were there. Zidane, Beckham, Figo, Carlos, Ronaldo, Raul, Owen, Casillas etc etc. After training it came to autograph time and Zizou and Far Ron just disappeared straight to the dressing room, not an interest bewteen them. Beckham on the other hand stayed out for about half an hour while Raul lasted almost an hour. Most people had left by the time he'd finished signing and he looked like he loved every minute of it. Got my Madrid jersey signed by him. Pity it has Zidane on the back though

At the same session we had a bit of a laugh with Thomas Gravesen while he was warming up. Shouted over to him something about how was he missing Lee Carsley so he ran over and had a little joke with us. Legend.

Met Paddy Kluivert in Barca around 2001 and had great craic with him. He spoke to me and the bro for about 5 mins while his chauffer waited for him. Couple of Dutch guys came over as well and chatted to them in Dutch as well. We gave him serious stick cause Ireland and Holland were in the same WC qualification group.

Met Pat Bonner in 91 and true to form (on this thread anyway) he was a cnut. He was the celeb at a business opening and just did the bare minimum and then fcuked off.

Best guy i met was Ken Doherty the snooker player. Met him when he opened a mates shop and then met him in Gatwick late one night and sat talking to him on the plane over to Dublin. He signed a book for my Granny who is a massive snooker fan.

Jesus Bonner is getting some abuse on this thread, cant believe he is such a plank, although maybe he is just really anti-social, he comes across so stiff and everything on TV that maybe he finds interaction with other humans very difficult!

Never met any footballers :( well no one that i thought was cool enough to ask for an autograph! Met Gordon D'Arcy and John Hayes before (on separate times) nice guys both of them. Challenged John Hayes to an arm wrestle, but thankfully he turned me down! :)

I was in the company of Kenny Cunningham for an evening once. An absolute gent.

I have a negative story about Packie too - but enough's been said about that ****!

That was nice of him, good few years ago, got most of the man utd team autographs at there training ground, the likes of Beckham and Lee Sharp were great for autographps, as were most of the team, the only two that did not sign any autograhps were keane and irwin who didn't even stop.
Considering that this thread is about the Irish National team... What does that say to you about the Irish professional footballers?

Yeah I've always thought he comes across terrible on TV. Makes sense!

Met fowler, David james and Mark wright in the Moat hotel in liverpool years ago. Even as a united fan they were a great laugh.

P.S Been told by someone who worked in the FAI with bonner that he's a knob most days of the week. Won't work with the FAI anymore because of him. Never met him myself but seems to be a consensus :D

Good to see stormfront isn't the only place where you can get away with Packie bashing.
