Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Right I'm going to go to the Hull match. Booked hotel for the night in some terrible looking place in Hull, also bought a ticket for Everton away this morning. :o

what? no preston chelsea match thread?!:D
ahh well, love being able to put on the telly and watch the game on the oul itv! but back to the game itself,
goal to the good, anelka shot and i think it was St Ledgers ankle it hit on the way in, but preston missed a sitter. not fond of having deco play the holding role personally. we have a good 66% possession. and its just gone half time.

    edit: found the match thread!

Only City left in it now to be honest.

If we don't get them before that. Stoke and Birmingham away would be tough ties too though.

I have been locked out since the outage ,

So have been unable to comment on our game over the weekend ,

Delighted to see Sturridge get a goal , little disappointed that we did not give some of the younger players a chance , but I suppose PNE were playing a physical game and I can see why they didnt get a run out !

Horrible to see Man U at the the top, thats two teams now that have capitulated in the last 10 mins against them.

Who is heading over the Birmingham game ? I reckon its going to be an absolute belter of a match , and I cant wait

On a side note : Did anyone see the red card in Inter V AC game,

Straight RED for Sneijder for clapping at a referee decision ! Poor JM, he never seems to have the Luck with the referees !:)

What's the news on Ashley Cole for the Birmingham match?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Doubtful, hard to tell if he will start.

Mikel and Nigeria march onto the semi's. Great peno by him in the shootout.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Don't think I can make Everton on the 10th February, so probably have a spare if anyone is interested.

It's in row A in the away area obviously, selling for face value £29 whatever that is in euro!

My guess he'll be on the bench, and only be called upon if we are losing.

3 in the middle, 2 out wide i suspect, id say Ballack would take the defensive duties and allow Lamps and Deco to push on, I would ratehr Ballack in there then Deco everyday of the week.

Yeah, only waking up I get the team now. Right way to play against them, contain, counter, punish.

It would be a very handy 3 points, show United were the belong this year, underneath us and looking up.

Arsenal and United will soon be getting dizzy from the lack of oxygen!:D

They'd better not get too comfy at the top!

15 points from next 5 games would be nice. And will happen...

    Carefree......:D

you guys have a slight superiority complex don't you?

injure Rooney and Cesc for any length of time and you can be very confident.

before that, or before you're miles ahead, i wouldn't be shouting from the rooftops.

    To each his own, really...

Cesc will fly away back to Barca in the summer and Roon-aldo isn't all that happy at United, if reports are to be believed. Goodnight Vienna.

That's also assuming the Glazers don't flog Rooney to keep the sinking ship afloat.

    Well, we can wish anyway...:D

Tomorrows game will be tough. Birmingham are unbeaten in something like 16 games! We really need to score early.

Cesc is one thing, i'd say he'll be at Arsenal for another year or 2.

    Rooney isn't going anywhere.

the reports about Anelka's stalling contract talks are a lot more interesting and concrete than either of the above.

Anelka is just holding out for a few more quid, standard. He will get what he wants and deservedly so. Simples :)

he has rejected 4 contracts though at this stage.

    i think he will sign.

my only point was that the prospect of him leaving is a lot more than the Rooney and Cesc ones that were raised.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

For what its worth I don't think Rooney will leave United or Cesc Arsenal.

Cesc as you say probably in 2 or 3 years.

Dont really think it matters when we score!

Any kind of a win tmw will be great, hopefully Arsenal will drop a load of points over the next 4 games. Reckon Arsenal are more dangerous than utd imo.

Well since Birmingham are the only team that we haven't scored against this season I think we need to get one early, Birmingham are a very dangerous team on the break, they break with real pace and Benitez and Jerome are a bit of a handful, defensively they are very solid so an early one is just what is needed imo.

Also I still think its between us and United if I'm being honest and in the end it will be us two fighting out top spot with Arsenal in third.
