Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    4 events to vote on.
Main competition is on race win .
3additional lower scoring bonus markets - just to spice it up.
Bonus events marked with an asterix .

NB: Should both Webber and Rosberg fail to finish , the winner shall be the drivers who completed most race distance.

NB(ii): Honda consist of works drivers only , J Button and Rubens Barrichello .

Vote once on each of 4 selections.
Only 4 choices allowed !! no cheating

    Best of Luck !

By the way , I did consider adding the "FASTEST LAP" event to the comp, but I think the poll will be too long as I would have to list out the drivers again ,
I also excluded it because I couldnt fairly award points at a level 10 points per driver.
Trying to keep the max points reward for the race win , all other lesser events should be fairly balanced 10 point each way .

I'll include the fastest lap in both Silverstone/Spa Francochamps bumper comp's :)

hamilton performed well in monaco.... 40 sec lead at one stage. As he has said before he loves monaco, plenty of corners "more of a thrill".

bearing in mind canada has some of the fastest and straightest runs of any circut it could be close between hamilton and kimi... thing is ferrari are trying to dominate the constructors, they already have it, but to have there two drivers at the top looks really impressive..... thats why there letting kimi and massa take turns in trying to get as much points as possible each...

odds are if either of the ferrrari drivers are going to win it will be kimi, but he has got such strong competition with hamilton racing..

Im gonna put 100e e/w on kimi

look at the results last year..... hamilton wins 4.3 secs ahead of nick heidfield... kimi comes in 6th position, and f massa is black flagged for leaving the pits under a red light.......

ODD-JOB am I reading it correctly that the poll doesn't close until 23:59 on 7-6-08? ie. AFTER qualifying??

ive been watching the two practise sessions today...... the tight corner after the long straight is causing slight problems.... glock hit the corner on coming out, lost the car......... kubica is also very close to it... and its expected to rain..... i can see there beign problems there...

Unfortunately when posting a poll ,... you can only choose the day it closes , you cant pick a time .
So im hoping for honesty ! but im usually watching it to some degreee.
the qualifying is late on Saturday aswell

Kimi to win (Angry fast man gets back at press?)
Rosberg to beat Webber (Rosberg's class)
More than 15 finishers (The lads have got the hang of the lack of traction control?)

Any other driver to win - I think this could be Kubica's race.
Webber to beat Rosberg - tough call, but i think webber has slight edge.
Less than 15 to finish - Canada is traditionally a race of attrition!
Honda to gain a point - With a few cars crashing out I reckon Rubens could catch a point or two.

Second prize - 2 days with Louis Hamilton:pac:

    On a more serious note.:)

Qualifying didn't start till 7 right?
I don't bother watching it anymore.
But anyway I posted here just after I voted at 18:45.
If it is a matter of seconds into qualifying then I don't see the problem tbh.

I have to say, all this GP Competition bollocks annoys me a little. There used to be actual discussion about the forthcoming/previous GP and they had a particularly interesting slant from an Irish perspective (less fanboyism, more objective).

That seems to have ebbed away and all we have now is a string of feckin' meaningless predictions. The fact that there are people on here spelling Hamilton's first name as 'Louis' is pretty indicitive of the level of 'fan' this mindless tosh attracts...

Can we not enjoy F1 without turning it into some sort of 'Fantasy F1' b011ix? I mean it's fair enough for football but F1 seems to me particularly unsuited to this type of 'entertainment'...

    Hey , Lighten up a little !!
Its only a bit of harmless fun........ you can still start a thread on the discussion of the grand prix.

I only started it when people said they'd be interested !
Well if something like this causes "annoyance" in your life , then you must be living close to perfection ,... so it cant be all that bad :D

What a load of bollox. I was just thinking the other day how there now seems to be so much more grand prix discussion in here since the competition started. This place used to be dead. If you don't like the competition threads don't read them. I for one think they're great.

    Don't think that went well...

Have to say I do like the competition in general (liked it more at the start when I wasn't swandiving towards the back of the field :D) - adds a bit more to the GP in the closing stages (when it's pretty much sorted). For example, in Canada I was praying for Vettel and Kov to overtake the Honda of Bar!

    🤪

I'm delighted for Kubica, what a season so far, almost always outperformed Heidfeld. I bet McLaren will offer him a seat for the 2009 season.
