Some of Joe Malone's anger could be because he encountered a real a-hole cyclist a few years ago. I wish he'd pressed charges.

Back on topic, these 'accidents' (it was no accident that the driver was high) are maddening. Ireland lost a great athlete two years ago in a similar accident. Caroline Kearney was to be in the triathlon in the 2008 Olympics.

    Hi all,

Sad news, please see the accident below in this argentinian newspaper

It happened in Mexico when a drunk driver fall asleep while driving.

Those sort of comments were probably inevitable on news.com.au given what happened a few weeks ago in Sydney. From talking with cycling buddies Down Under, tensions seem to be running high at the moment.

They are crazy comments in both articles.
    My favourite sane comment was:

Any innocent death on the road is a tragedy, but by the logic of some posters here, the next time a truck smashes into a car and kills a young family, we can all say "see, cars shouldn't be on the road either". Exactly the same logic. No of course motorists wouldn't though, because the love of the metal lounge rooms is far too much. Our expanding waistlines are testament. Henry's dream for the world is over folks, time to move on.

Maybe this topic should be applied down under as well as over yonder... especially for "Phil of Sydney"
