    Hey guys,

After a busy weekend of socialising (e.g. a bank holiday) or maybe an all-nighter on a regular Saturday night I find, despite the fact that I'm sleep deprived, I can't get to sleep. E.g. Sunday night was pretty much an all-nighter - got to sleep about 6am and was really tired all day yesterday. So last night I went straight to bed after Lost (about 11.15) and was awake until 4am and the longer I waited, the more restless and stiff then stressed and anxious I became. I'd find myself dosing off and then the slightest creak would wake me with a jolt. It was as if my body was on edge. Today I can hardly see. And I'm so afraid it will be the same tonight.

    Anyone familiar with this?

Sound very familiar to be honest, I think it's because you are so tired you can't relax enough to sleep. Of course then the more anxious you become the less relaxed you're likely to be. Happens me all the time. Absolute quiet, hot bath, make sure your warm and make a pact with yourself not to mull anything over. Maybe eat something starchy before sleep too. Good luck.

The body knows when its time to sleep and when its not time, If you muck about with the internal clock (by staying up till all hours) you'll have a hard time getting any sleep of value.

Even staying up an hour longer than is normal can mean you "miss the boat" and end up staring at the ceiling for two hours fretting before the 'next wave' carries you to dreamland.

    Mike.
