How long is it before a main dealer is not obliged to supply parts for a bike model? I believe it is 15 years with Honda, Is this the same with others?

Yamaha and Honda EPCs have a 20 year span of models. Usually any part numbers available on the epc are supplied without a problem. Ive only not been supplied with an old part once, for a 20yo C90.

Even on some older models such as old gixxers and mid 80s Hondas Ive been able to request part numbers and get the parts, but I dont know what any official policy is.

Mine is a 88 Gixr 750 Some of the service parts are compatible with later models. These bikes have reached cult status and the engines (Particularly the oil cooled motors) are still widely used in streetfighters.

They were terrific for drag racing too. :)

Depends what you are looking for then. Athena would prob do gaskets, but its genuine for things like side casings. Though specialist performance shops in the UK probably have lots of bits for them because they were so hugely popular.
