Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was thinking of getting a steering wheel for the 360.....

    Does anyone here have one?
    Are they worth the moolah?
Do they improve the gaming experience sufficiently?

    Thoughts greatly appreciated!

    Cheers, ML

I bought one in Gamestop last year, have to say, absolute crap.

Im into my racing games and thought this would be fun, but i played it 3 times and sold it, i hated it. It felt like i was driving a shopping trolley at 165 mph and just bashing from wall to wall.

Hmm, was reading a review of it and the guy said for the first hour he sucked ass (on PGR3, despite him being class on it on a standard controller) but he said when he got used to it, it was class!

I have the MS racing wheel and find it excellent. Turn the force feedback up to 100% on GRID and it's absolutely amazing, adds another level of enjoyment to the game. It takes a few goes to get used to, but I'm actually better with the wheel now than with a pad.

Cheers, i actually bought the microsoft one yesterday for GRID especially! I played for a while with it and absolutely sucked! but i'm definitely gonna stick with it cos it does indeed add a new level of immersion.
What other settings you use? is your's table mounted or lap mounted?

also with the steering wheel for GRID you need to configure it correctly, but once you get it spot on, I hear its alot better to play with, as each game would need to steering while to be setup accordingly.

    DIRT
    GRID
    F1
    PGR

They would all need to have the wheel configured to each game.

I use mine on my lap and it's fine. Leave the table mount attached and have that between your knees. As for configuration for GRID, so far I've only turned the feedback up to 100%. I've got used to it now probably won't bother with the more advance configuration.
My friend went the whole way and bought a racing seat for his so he has the wheel and pedals permanently mounted. Feels like you're in an arcade when playing like that, just wish I had the space for one!

Stick with the wheel mate, it's definitely worth the money although I still have to go back to the pad for drift events.

Funny thing happened! the force feedback just stopped working in my wheel so i took it back to exchange it, but they didn't have anymore in stock so i just got Ninja Gaiden II & Lego Indiana Jones instead.... I'll get another wheel in a few weeks or something. I still suck at it btw!
