320D E46 crankshaft breather filter

Hello Folks,
I've read recently about this being a part that should be replaced regularly. I'm fairly sure that I know where it is (close to the air filter at the front end of the engine) but could someone please post a pic of either the location or the filter itself just so I can re-assure myself its the right part.

Also where would one recommend getting this part. I normally order stuff from England cos tis cheap.

Dont think its here, also not sure if this is similar since I expect this is from a petrol engine. Me impression is that this is a fairly compact filter about as round as a bean/pea tin and about 2in tall. Think it fits inside a case at the location I outline above.....but as I said I'd like to be sure.


Also one other silly thing. While looking at this the other day I notice that my air filter needs changing but it has this muslin type cloth over it which doesn;t appear to be in any of the replacement fikters. This cloth is filthy. Should it be there, can I clean/wash it???

Part no. 11 is the breather filter, you can buy it only from BMW

Re. air filter - all I've seen have the cloth on outside even the spurious 1's.
