Well after two years of getting a specific work of art on my body I am going to do it. I got a bit of a bonus ther other day at work so I thought now was as good a time as any, but I do have a couple of questions.

    1) Below is the image of what I am getting and is to size, I'm just wondering how long this is going to take to get done? I understnad that differnt artists will take differnt times, but are we talking about 2 hours or 4+?

    2) The colours, will they show up fine on a pale skinned body? I'm sure the red will be ok, but the yellow worries me a bit, also some of the colours run into each other, like a gradient, will this be possible to reproduce?

    3) White V Skin colour, is there much point in getting white ink in the white places, or would I be better off just leraving it skin coloured (considering I'm pale as it is).

    4) I have a good idea of which places to go to and which to avoid, but if you know anyone in the dublin area who would be good at this type of art that would also be a great help.

Any answers and help would be great.

    Reguards.

you're the second person who posted on here about getting an FF logo tattoo, amazing!!! :D

considering it's size it shouldn't take three long, but there is a bit of detail in there. i'd guess at a booking a three hour session and then you might have to book in to get it finished but i wouldn't really be sure about timing to be honest.

the colours will look amazing on pale skin. i'm like a milk bottle myself and a few of my pieces have yellow in them and it's very bright and vibrant.

as for white ink, i'm not sure, you'd have to ask the artist about it. i have a piece with white on it also and you can see it but it doesn't show up very well but if you're using it to incorporate in the blending then it would just alter the shades of the other colours i imagine.

as mentioned many times before, there is a sticky of places to go to get it done but i'm going to be biased and recommend wildcat ink in stephen's green cuz that's where i go for all my stuff but each to their own.

i'd say your best bet is going around to different places with the picture and sussing out which artist you like best and would be most suited to the style cuz a lot of the time they specialise in a specific area of tattooing, old school etc.

getting the tattoo done how you want it won't be a problem, just finding where you want to get it done will take a bit of time

the shading will be no problem, depending on you talking to the artist before hand and explaining exactly how you want it done but the blending shouldn't be a problem.

I'd advise getting it a third again bigger, maybe even a half, in the interests of clarity and longevity.

Thank you very much for the advice guys, I'll take it on board :)

I hate to ask this (because it makes me sound real cheap) but around 300 euro should cover it right?

Wow that was very kind of you, that's the next one to get for me, got the smaller one first.

Was thinking of getting it in just black but to be honest I'm not too gone on that. In fact I might be a bit picky but I wouldn't be too happy if mine turned out like that, however the size is perfect and I think I can use this as a reference when I go in.

    Thanks a million, you're a star!

i tried to find more but it seems this person is the only one who has one done.
i wished i could find more but thats all i could come up with.
its a big decision alright but going to a good tattooist will most happy to help you with that.
good luck on your tat and let me know how ye get on!

Perhaps I'm misreading it, but it looks to me like there's another difference between your and the black one above - the eye that's peering out from yer man's hips. I wonder if that's intentional and if you think it adds anything to the image?

    Never noticed that myself!

The thing is the box art is:

As you can see text flows across that part and the only "naked" versions of the image are what people like myself have done by cutting the text out and then re going over it all so he might of decided to add an eye in, that's a pretty cool idea though, I just went for a fairly clean cut lines down effect.
