    Most likly IMO:

    Parnell &HR
    Sinn Fein 1918
    Cultural Nationalism
Compare gov's of CnaG and FF
    The treaty
    Causes of civil war
    Stalin & purges
    Hitler and propaganda
    Vietnam

Ah! I'm definitely not prepared for this one! I'll have to go over everything. This weekend. And Maths (at least Irish is grand!). But anyway, my bee ts are:

    Democracy and Dictatorship:
    Church-State Relations
    Anti-Semitism in Nazi State
    Totalitarian Russia

    Movements Towards Political Reform:
    Parnell, Butt or Redmond
    Cultural Nationalism
    Unionism

    In Persuit of Sovreignity:
    The Treaty
Economy/State Building (either FF or CnaG, haven't a clue)
    maybe Eucharistic Congress.

And I think Vietnam will come up in the Documents, but I'll be studying them all anyway!

I was dead sure that Stalin came up last year and wouldn't be asked this year but I just looked at the papers and I am jovial. Stalin is totally my favourite superpower ;)

As will I! That's the nicest essay ever!

It was the 40th anniversary of Martin Luther King's death back in April, so Montgomery could come up...

I'm holdin out for Parnell, Hitler and Dev - basically the three main people from the books! I dont mind Stalin or Mussolini either

I'd love something on Easter Week, doubt i'll get it!

    Banking on
    the shinners in 1918,
the nazi state (pretty covered here)
and the lockout or the womens movement.

Parnell and Issac Butt is a fast ticket to sleeptown at night, just boring.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 9,722 Mod ✭✭✭✭Twee.

Seems most folks did the Parnell/Butt era for the second Irish question. We (all six of us) did the Famine and Catholic Emancipation.

What came up in the Examining Board or something mock?

    Parnell
    GAA
    Lockout
    Land

    A-I Treaty
    Economic Polices 22-39
    A-I Relations 22-49
    Eucharistic Congress
    WWII

Mussolini - Rise to power, domestic policies, foreign policies
Hitler - Rise to power, domestic policies (propaganda, anti-Semitism, church-state relations included in that), foreign policy
Stalin - Economic policies, Show Trials

Know that and you'll get an A.

Lemass's ecomomic expansion in the 50's and 60's has to come up. It is the main thing that happened in that period. It came up the last 2 years and is in every sample paper I have seen. I will be seriously pissed off if it doesnt come up, as I don't know alot more from that section. The Treaty and how it led to the civil war better come up in the partition section and something on the rise of facsism/nazis or nazi propaganda for the Dictatorsip section. Martin Luther King would be great as I know alot about him.

It could either go brilliantly, or terribly. My project was amazing though so hopefully I will get the B or C1 I am looking for.

I think the Anglo American Pop. Culture is quite likely to come up, hasn't yet.

    .

He could do since its some anniversary of his.. Although Vietnam is what everyone wants, its known to be the hardest so i think they'll put that up first to get it out of the way..
you looking over the moon landing at all?

I love history, but as a school subject its killing me......
learning HOW to answer essays is crucial too, so don't just fill your head with facts. Read the questions well, crucial in history. Refer to the Q in your A and blah blah blah...
