Played the demo of this, looks like a really cool game, anyone have it?

It's formally Toca, I had one of the previous ones and loved it.

I'm wondering if the download is worth it over buying, as I can't find the game anywhere locally.

Is grid not considered a racing sim?

Was a bit tipsie the other night. :D

Great game, have to dust of the ol steering wheel for it, it's a trustmaster force GP, I'm considering getting a better one.

Ye should be able to help there???

Should I go all out on the Logitech G25? I don't want to spend that much but don't know any other quality wheels for less money.

I cant think of anything from codemasters that would be considered a sim, but meh, as long as you enjoy it, thats all that matters :)

Wheel wise, the driving force pro is a good bang-for-buck (euro) wheel. The PS2 version works with a PC. Most people dont know this so you can pick em up cheap.

i had all the toca titles and feel this game is a bit of a let down.unreal handleing and impossible to get online.i dont know anything about opening ports or any of that crap and nor do i feel does the majority of people getting this game.

It's a bit on the easy side alright, there's some very annoying things in it like the AI braking in a flat out corner, causing me to run up the arse of them.

Never had any problems with Internet. You shouldn't have to open ports through. If your using windows firewall just go into it (you'll find it in control panel) go to exceptions and add the grid exe file to it.

What is a good racing sim?

What is a good racing sim?

It depends on what system you want it for.

Pretty much anything apart from your typical console racer but if you mean a console racer then Forza 2 maybe
Some clain forza is a sim,ITS NOT!
Its a good racer and more realistic than other console titles so if you mean a console racer then thats the closest you will ge to a racing sim on console for now.

On pc the choice is endless,

    live for speed http://www.lfs.net/

    GTR 1 and 2 http://gtr-game.10tacle.com/

    rFactor http://www.rfactor.net/

    Grand Prix legends http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Prix_Legends
also nascar series made by Papyrus ,same guys that created GPL

    GT Legends http://www.gt-legends.com/home_en.php

You could go for the upcoming iracing made by simracing gods Papyrus www.iracing.com

I played Grid for a night (have a G25 wheel), and sure it was fun but nothing compared to say LFS or rFactor.
