The steep hill leading down to the Boyne crossing when leaving Slane used to have a "Check Brakes" sign. It was missing the 'kes' years ago, much to the amusement of us kids.

There's a sign in the estate where my grandparents live that used to say "No Dumping. Maximum fine €1500". Someone has sprayed over the 'D' and stuck on an 'H'.

With the amount of businesses folding up in the downturn there are heaps more TO_LET signs out there to be altered. :D

This sign doesn't need defacing, but although the town name is funny, whats funnier is that the bottom sign relating to the Children reads, 'Slowly Please' :D

It's on Parkgate Street. It's 'no more than 5!' not none at all..

It's a 5 axle ban, not tie fighters.

When the refugees moved into Mosney someone added an a at the end to make it Mosneya.

That used to always crack me up when passing.

Yes, there's few a signs around the Kilmartins and J8 roundabouts with that sprayed on, it was also on the road itself for a short while.

Westwood gym beside clontarf rd. dart station has a huge sign reading: "IRELAND'S FIRST 50 METRE POOL".

I have often imagined a scenario where someone has removed the final "L" :D.

It will never happen though as it would need to be a huge logistical operation involving an armed gang and cranes and blowtorches etc., and not to mention what I'd imagine would be a rapid police response time :(:D.

Another altered sign in Dunsaughlin where someone has changed it to
DJ Saughlin. Simple but funny. Had it as the background on my phone for a while.

In County Cork there is a townland called Ballinglanna. On one of the signposts for this townland the third "L" was missing.
