Also, do you really think the cabbie took the fares details? Probably has no way of finding his excellent 'witness'

I'd imagine he just said the the passenger would be a witness just to scare off the cyclcist and stop them from reporting him in the fear that they themselfs might get in trouble...****en chancer!
