    See the attachment:D!

Thus far we've only seen a handful of prices, but I have the complete list here.

The 1.6 TDCi has been withdrawn in the Focus, as reported by Henry Ford III several weeks ago, but the 1.8 TDCi still manages to be cheaper than the 1.4.

There is a new Powershift gearbox(read DSG type) for the Focus as well in a 2.0 TDCi with 5 bhp less than the 1.8 TDCi surprisingly.

Unfortunately Ford haven't decided to offer the 2.0 TDCi 136 PS manual in the Focus. Big mistake Ford:(! No sign of the ECOnetic Focus either, surprising considering that the Mondeo ECOnetic is already on sale and was brought out before the Focus ECOnetic elsewhere in Europe.

Thanks for the list E92 :D

Just a quick question. Is the VRT rebate given on the FFV models taken into account with these prices.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,147 ✭✭✭E92

I would assume that it is.

One of the more interesting additions for July is that the Titanium X Mondeo is newly available with the 1.8 TDCi 123 bhp engine as well from €35,270. Unfortunately the more efficient ECOnetic Mondeo isn't available as a saloon though :(.

So the S-Max 2.0 TDCi Zetec I bought in January has dropped by €2k. Not too bad.

No-one has been told so far how the rebate will work. You might even need a tax clearance cert before you'll get it!

I'm amazed the 1.6TDCi has been withdrawn. I would have thought the low-power ones Ford put in the Focus (90bhp rather than the 110 it has in Peugeots/Mazda 3) would have REALLY low CO2 and suit the Irish motorist's obsession with underpowered cars.

Is this just for Ireland or for all European Focii? Is it rationalisation because Ford want use their own engines rather than buying-in?

125bhp 1.8 looks a GREAT all-round package by the way...

The 1.6 and 1.8 TDCi engines are both in the 121-140 g CO2 band, so there's no point in offering both.

Focus 1.6 TDCi was 110bhp from 2005 to late 2006. There is supposed to be a cleaner version of the 1.6 TDCi available in the UK soon.

I can only imagine that the 1.6 has been withdrawn from the Irish market because the existing version would probably cost the same or less than the 1.4 litre petrol which has been their biggest seller here.

Also with the introduction of the 2.0 TDCi in the Focus, two diesel engines in the line up is probably enough for Ford at the moment. If more people opt for diesel versions than petrol versions though you might seem the 1.6 TDCi make an appearance again, it may replace the 1.4/1.6 petrol models as the entry level model of the range.

The 1.8 TDCi is already cheaper than the 1.4 in the Focus, making anything smaller completely unnecessary.

But the 1.6 TDCi will be re-introduced in a special ECOnetic trim for the hatchback and will have 108 bhp.

Btw when the Focus got its facelift all 1.6 TDCi's made it into VRT band A. The 89 bhp model does 118 g/km for CO2 and the 108 bhp model does 119 g/km.

The ECOnetic model is better yet with 114 g/km for the 89 bhp and 115 g/km for the 108 bhp 1.6 TDCi.

It's a great pity they haven't brought in the 2.0 TDCi 134 bhp though.

Indeed one of the benefits of the new system is that it makes faster diesels much more attractive than before, because they can be much cheaper than hitherto, so why aren't we seeing any additions to most manufacturers' diesel line ups then, especially more powerful diesels that we are presently denied:(?

I've drove that 1.8 TDCi in the new Mondeo, and it was so disappointing I couldn't believe it.
No low-down power whatsoever; huge flat-spots in every gear (foot buried into the carpet, car going no-where). All the power was in one lump on the turbo at the very top of the rev range (ala diesel turbos of old), and you got there just as you needed to change up, then you went on the the flat-spot in the next gear, and so on.
You have to work the power out of it, hence the economy was terrible.
    As I said, I couldn't believe it.
Hopefully its better in the Focus.

I'm impressed that the diesel autos are 6 speed though!! Looking into it for the grandparents.

One of the reasons why Ford are using this engine here is because it's as cheap as chips to make for a diesel, only 8 valves and only one cam do reduce the complexity and cost of the engine;)!

The 1.8 TDCi is older than the 1.9 TDI VAG lump believe it or not and first saw the light of day in the Sierra back in the 80s, which in turn is heavily based on the 1.6 diesel offered in the Mk3 Escort:eek:! Unlike the 1.9 TDI which has only gained unit injector technology in the 15 years of its existence, Ford have gone from no turbo indirect injection to turbocharging and common rail technology and other parts of the engine have been thoroughly revised over time, but nevertheless the Focus's 1.8 TDCi engine comes from a time when Ford sold the Mk3 Escort:eek:!

Some very modern end efficient engine designs are 8-valve with a single cam.

    Chrysler/Jeep Pricelist

Is it really worth their while to discontinue the 3.3l Grand Voyager, It's not as if paying a fortune in tax was putting people off in the first place and I know the ride is extremely smooth coupled to the auto box in that. I can't imagine a diesel produced by a yankee corporation could match it.
