Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just pulled this from stuarts insurance t+c's

"Comprehensive cover includes Accidental Damage to vehicle, including Fire and Theft for
vehicle and permanent fixtures in the vehicle. Fire damage as a result of cooking is included.
This is only covered when the vehicle is stationary. "

Nice of them to cover fire due to cooking but what if I want the other half to have dinner ready when we arrive at our site?

Cut a hole in the cab floor and leave some bacon and sausage on the engine exhaust...cook for 10mins turning every 3mins :)
I've heard of people using crock pots (low temp slow cooker) off inverters on a long journey.

    i'm joking alright :)

Just picturing the situation as one drives happily along with a big pot of boiling spuds 3ft behind them, ready to be launched at any moment. Who in their right mind would cook while driving? Although it does remind me of a tale i heard of an american (of course) who put his van on cruise control and went into the back to make himself some coffee!

I saw a show years ago where people used to wrap food up and stick it in the engine bay to cook as they travelled, think it was Australia. Much better use of resources and less chance of burning the van, but I'd say they smell coming through would make you drool.

Manifold cooking. Well our 82 transit would probably get stuff cooked pretty quick but i wouldn't trust the old oily ford engine to keep the grub pure!
We could get "lamb with jus de castrol gtx"
or "coc au sans plomb" or "tender cured carbon monoxide smoked bacon".
I could give that a miss till i get a cleaner engine. :)
