Perhaps I am missing something here, but in what way is that a rip off?

Have you seen the mileage on it?

Just because it's of year 2000 it's that expensive too, Dealers logic.

You could get a 95, exact same car..with half the miles for a third of the price.

I don’t think that makes it a rip off. I’m not so sure that because you could buy a car 5 years older much cheaper has any bearing on it. That seems like strange logic to me.

It would be more accurate to suggest that the mileage makes the price a little expensive but that in no way makes the seller offering the car a “rip off”.

I don't know why I bothered but this is clearly a bigger "rip off"

you dont have to look far because they add 500 on to the price of every car then an extra 200 for neg.

    load of b**** imo.

anyone who uses autotrader or carzone for buying cars Seriously needs there head checked.

Er, what do you use so? I mean there isn't much left, other than the buy and sell - which hasn't been much better as of late, and generally full of true ****e.
There's plenty of reasonably priced stuff on carzone.

Let stupid people buy them if they want, other than that anyone can ask for any amount for something they are selling

Its a great idea for a thread, cause theres a lot of people with their heads in the clouds out there, but I would've picked a better rip-off than a starter-first-timers car for 3.5k! I sold a '99 clio last year for 3,750 in desparate need of a service, battery, timing belt, only 3-months NCT left, base model and so forth.
It sold via carzone in 3 hours with NO pictures, and I was hounded with calls. it was onw of the cheaper ones on the site
Cheap starter cars are hugely popular and easy to shift.

    heres a rip-off: an '06 Volvo S80 http://www.carzone.ie/used-cars/Volvo/S80/2.0T-SE/947239/

an extra 2k would get me an '06 new model S80 which is a great car

TBH most cars listed on www.carzone.ie are rip-offs too much unrealistic prices and over-inflated egos from private sellers about their babies.

For example, I'm selling a 2002 Honda CRV listed for €10,750. Now there's 25 for sale in this year and the cheapest is €9,950 (so I am not too far off the game) but the most expensive is €18,950!! That's a difference of 100% for the same thing!! This seems to echo in most cars for sale.

    Case in point:

    For €18,950

    For €10,750

I suppose the blue makes it worth an extra €8,200!

No one is forcing you to buy any of these cars children... surely you have something more worthwhile to worry about.

Seriously, get a life... who cares if someone has overvalued their Micra/Clio/ whatever by 500 quid.

That was the point of my first reply.

If it's overpriced then it will most likely not sell in the current second hand market. Simple as that.
