    Hi There!

Aer Lingus is to suspend services on its route from Dublin to Los Angeles from November.

I have flights booked and paid for me and a friend of mine on the 20th nov one way to los angeles from dublin, (headin back from san francisco). Aer lingus have not yet emailed me to notify me of the withdrawal of the service. I am just wondering am i intilted to compensation as i book these flights earily in the year when fuel sur charges where not as high or will they just refund me the fair and tell me to get lost. Can someone advise me as to weather they have to honour there contract to fly us to los angeles, and if so should i pitch for an upgrade as well if this is the case?

    Here is the related story:

They will probably offer you a ticket with BA via Heathrow. Their contract is to transport you from Dublin to LAX in economy class. They could also route you via SFO with a connecting flight from there to LAX

It's highly unlikely that they will give you an upgrade for this.

They will probably also give you the option of a refund of the amount paid.

You're probably better going with BA as the on-board service is far better with BA than with Aer Lingus.

I few this route once on my first trip to the US and the service was atrocious. I have since flown with BA, Virgin, Air France and Delta to the US and have found their service to be far superior to Aer Lingus

This link suggests that all they have to do is refund your money as they have given adequate notice (i.e. more than two weeks):

That site just says that they aren't entitled to compensation for the change, they should still be offered a rerouted flight
