    I'm flying LHR-JFK on Wednesday, outbound on a A340, and returning on a B747.

Looking forward to the Heathrow Clubhouse, the flat beds, and apparently very high standards of service.

On the way back I get to use their Revivals Lounge too.

    Sorry for the gloat :D

Flew upper class from Pudong to LHR , just fantastic , the only way to fly .. enjoy

    The only downside , LHR-JFK isn't long enough !

If you're going to be connecting in London and choosing between VS Upper or BA First, then you should definitely consider Singapore Airlines to JFK from Frankfurt. Decent flight times, very little hassle, excellent service. And it's on a 744 with very, very comfortable lie-flat seats. Great in flight entertainment, great food, great drink, great service in general.

Alternatively, look into flying with Lufthansa from Frankfurt - you'll have access to the First Class Terminal. They even drive you from the FCT to the plane in a Porsche.

Posting this from the Virgin Clubhouse in Heathrow. The service so far has been top class. Limo from hotel to private security channel. Checked in from the limo. Facilities are top notch. Great food, drink etc. Pool table. Chairs that swing from the roof.

Another 1 hour 15 mins until boarding. Bring it on!

BA First and VS Upper can't be compared. While both fantastic products, the VS service is a business class service not too dissimilar to BA Club World except with a few gimmicks attached. If you have the money to do it, or if the company's paying (and will allow it), BA First is the only way to go.

I must say, though, that the LHR Clubhouse is one of the top airline lounges.

Really does show you how far EI is lagging behind.

Not really a market EI goes for though does it?

Unless you're going to Singapore (or somewhere in that area) or Australia, then Singapore Airlines is the only choice. Better service than BA, seats are just as good, food and drink are better, plus if you're flying in F on SQ, you can use the VS clubhouse in LHR (aswell as the SilverKris lounge). You dont get the limo to the airport, but then again you don't get that with BA either. Plus, they're cheaper! Plus they're bringing in additional A380s on the LHR - SIN route, with new business class and suites. But SQ to HKG (via SIN) is probably going a bit out of your way...
