    Would it really Xavi?

If its optional the user might not have it enabled.

If its not, whats to stop them lying about it?

Might as well have a 'race/ethnic' field too.

Ah yeah I know. It'd be like age and location though, most people do tell the truth, some don't and some keep quiet about the lot. It's all the same really so why not have it? You can't have ASL without the 'S'!

It would save a lot of the "he said this" and "he said that" in reference to posts made by females.
What about if we used "(s)he said this?" Ask Tar?

Something about this idea strikes me as a bad idea... if people want to make their gender obvious they can do so at the moment.

    I'd support this.

I'm often unsure of the sex of a poster and I'd rather avoid offence arising from referring to them as the wrong gender in a post.

    Not that easy.
A poster's posts or views seldom state their gender.

No it wouldn't. If any posters gender is certain it's B!ue.
That guy probably wouldn't have got it right if (s)he had a naked pic on his/her profile.

    That's not what I was saying. I meant don't use he/she & his/her, just use their.

Well now, I am not exactly "up for it" 6th. I dont see how wanting to show what sex you are is pressumed as flirting.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
