    Log in2 router --> expert mode --> Statistics --> Dsl

    Ideal stats are higher SN Margin (noise), lower attenuation.

    Max Allowed Speed (kbps) 2048 256
    SN Margin (dB) 26.50 26.00
    Line Attenuation (dB) 22.50 14.00
    CRC Errors 0 4


    One question, why did no one at eircom ask me to check that?? Eitherway, its over now.. BB is back to speed so i'm happy

    I'd love to have stats as good as that...

    Mine (Netgear 834GT):

    ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
    Connection Speed 3072 kbps 384 kbps
    Line Attenuation 44.0 db 26.0 db
    Noise Margin 12.6 db 15.0 db

    Downstream margin drops to ~8db at night.

    Mine aren't bad :D pity my noise wasn't a bit higher giving me a 20+db difference and it'd be perfect

    Contact Eircom and get yourself back on the 1meg package, no point paying for 2meg when your line cant support it.

    Although, word is that the Eircom upgrades are ADSL2+ which might give you better speeds, put your stats in here; http://212.23.23.177/adsl/default.aspx and see what it comes up with

    With line stats like that an upgrade would actually be counter productive for you. How far are you from the exchange? have you checked your internal wiriing? any stuff on the line without filters? you shouldnt be on 2Mb with stats like that.
