What time did the iPhone go for sale last week on O2 website? Is it going to be 9am this morning for the next batch again?

I'm having a bit of a problem. I logged onto i tunes this morning and was requested an update for my i phone 3g. (its only a week old and already need updating???) So i clicked 'download and install'. but now i tunes seems to have frozen and i don't know at what stage it is it at. I'm afraid to just disconnect or to ctrl+alt+del to close it down as its not responding and am afraid it might leave me i phone with nothing on it. Anyone got any advice/suggestions

But it's only for new customers?
Existing O2 Bill-pay victims have to queue at their retail stores until 2010?
    Bah!

Yea something similiar happened to me - Itunes crashed and left the phone needing a restore (your left with a connect to itunes screen). It's simple to fix.

Restore your phone to factory settings using Itunes
Then Restore from your last back-up (it will prompt you to do this when you connect your phone to Itunes)
Once that is done reset your phone (top and middle buttons together) and reconeect to Itunes.

    Hope that helps.

Went up to Henry St and have one waiting there for me. Some issues with their system which mean I have to wait on it for a couple of days. Anyone having the same problems?

They're still having this problem? When did they say it'll be fixed exactly?

I was there on sat, said they'd keep me one but only until 5pm, I'd have to come back on sun, which I did, systems still down, they'd keep until 5pm. I can't believe they're still down after 3 days.

I'm having exactly the same problem, with the same store. I had one waiting for me since Saturday morning, and haven't yet managed to purchase it due to their systems being down. They suggested I try again today, and I'll do so in an hour or so.

If anyone's looking to use their free webtexts directly from their iPhone (or iPod Touch), I have just released an app called EirText, which is available for free in the App Store: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=286099297&mt=8
Nice one on producing the app!

However - it doesn't seem to be working for me! I've entered my 02 number and password and have been told my connection and login are okay. I can write a text, choose a contact, and send - but the recipient doesn't get it! The text even appears in my history. :pac:

I'm having that problem with a regular phone. I think its general issue with the O2 network at the moment.

If you are not currently an O2 customer you can get an 8GB or White 16GB iPhone on the O2 website. Black one is old out.

I've just picked mine up now (was on the list).

Just a quick question - can I start using it as a regular phone straight away, or do I have to wait until I get home to sync it up with iTunes?

Thanks (sorry if someone already asked this, but it's a large thread)

Ya gotta get it hooked up to iTunes to activate it.

Otherwise you can only make emergency calls till you do.

My wife's boss came back after lunch today with 12 x 16gb black iphones. One for everyone in the office as a bonus. He apparantly had them on order since they were announced & could of had 8gb or white ones before this but wanted the black 16s.

    Was in Dublin (DNS)

I walked into O2 Grafton street yesterday and scooped up a black 16gig. Best phone ever.
