Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Was in Kilaloe the weekend and was surprised to be told that there is now no campervan or camping park. Is this true ?

Am heading to Killaloe this weekend and had hoped to bring camper but as Shawnee has discovered there seems to be no campsite there! Anyone have any alternative suggestions? Nearest campsite in Mountshannon, bit too far to cycle and hate the idea of having to leave camper at home and stay in B&B. Am new to the scene and really getting into it but have just stayed in campsites so far! Suggestions really welcome!

Was quite surprised and disappointed that there was no campsite nearby. There is quite a few pubs and hotels with car parks , some may not mind you parking there, if you were having a bite to eat and a few drinks. It is really a pity as it is a lovely place for a weekend. Let me know how it goes for you.

Thanks for that! Was surprised too that there are no sites there anymore, Lough Derg one closed 2 years ago apparently! Meeting up with some mates staying in apartments by the marina so may be able to park near them, or might check out some of the car parks in the town (subtly!). Thanks again, will let you know how it goes! :)

again... not suitable for kids. The area suggested is in the middle of the river (fast flowing). Have a look at google maps to see.

We were there earlier this year, did the boat trip too. Was aiming to camp in what is now a holiday home site... grr.
